Alcantara may be more skillful and play with better players which is an advantage now but Jack is playing week-in, week-out in first team so he is much more developed and experienced than Alcantara.

Not really, everyone with half a brain knew that Nani was the DKNY of the situation. Cut rate, cut ability, cut quality. Oscar is a good player, he'll never offer what Jack does but he can reach similar heights.

"He can tick almost every box, and he's going to get better and better. He'll get better than he is now which is a scary thought," said Gerrard.

He's not yet back to his pre-injury level, let alone where he will be eventually. Brazil have some top class youngsters at the moment and it will be good to see them all sharing a pitch.

Started off brightly (the pass to Rooney was sheer class) but faded along with England. Gerrard had a better game from what I could tell. Not wise to draw any conclusions either way from a friendly though.

Fairly quiet in the second half, but the entire English midfield fell apart with the half-time substitutions. Still, the amount of damage he can do to teams from midfield is amazing.
