Song out sahin in would be a good piece of business then onto walcott to sign up.
Alex Song

They're all scrappers. And if Fletcher hadn't been crocked they'd probably won the whole thing.
Citys midfields packed with scrappers.
timBO! wrote:Yeah, I was just thinking more along the lines of Arteta-Sahin/Jack-Cazorla midfield, which would probably be our first choice.
Coq will have a big part to play as well. Think even Frimpong will get appearances.

That's my point, the entire team has to be capable of winning the ball back regardless of where their talents lie.
A midfield of Scholes/Giggs-Carrick-Nani-Valencia doesn't look like they could roll their sleeves up but they do. I don't see why we need an allocated ball winner as long as everyone else does a good job.
They've won the league without Fletcher anyway, doubt he'd get into the side last year either because they needed creativity in their midfield more than anything.
Wenger has been seeking a one-on-one meeting with Song after learning that his agent has been offering the player around Europe's elite clubs, despite him having three years left to run on his current contract.
This has deeply angered Wenger in a week when he was forced to hand over his captain Robin van Persie to rivals Manchester United for £24million, following another dispute over contracts.
Wenger has now sanctioned the sale, and Song has already cleared out his locker at the club's training headquarters, and said his goodbyes to players and staff.
Why on earth is his agent (darren fucking dein) whoring him out for, isnt that shit illegal when he is under contract. And song obviously is allowing this all to happen. Didnt he say a couple of seasons ago that arsenal was the only club for him and told cesc not to go.
timBO! wrote:I can spot the flaw in yours; Arteta is under Wenger's instruction and does a good job in front of the back 4. Also, Wenger has decided to get rid of Song, which suggests he's not doing exactly what Wenger wants him to do.
Ken does defend well Tim, but don't forget he's older and more experienced and hasn't even been here a full season so Wenger hasn't been able to ruin him yet.
Song's leaving "suggests" fuck all, it could be for any number of things- He pines for his old pal Cesc or he wants to compete with Puyol for the worst hair in la Liga title who knows?
Not yet checked for myself, but apparently wenger has said that if song is sold he will replace him. It's on arsenal player
Gus, there are so many caveats and addendums to your arguments it's sometimes hard to keep up.
Just checked. He did say it. Said we'd replace him defensively and a decision will be made on the weekend.
Not the clearest statement but I hope that means he'll get a defender in instead. He was banging on about the numbers we had in midfield
sahin and a versatile defender would be perfect. need cover for sagna. jenkinson is shit.
Still can't get my head around Song leaving, so unexpected.
It's good.
We didn't play with any great style last year. We are rolling the dice, and it's looking good
Yeah. Didn't want Song to go and I still thinks its a massive risk, but it's definitely exciting.
Isn't it amazing? We sell RvP and Song after last summer's disaster and yet there's this wonderful feeling of excitement around Arsenal.
The excitement is there because the signings we have made inc Sahin are immense and going to rip it, so far in terms of transfers in we have had the best.
I'm still really unhappy at the sale of Van Persie and likely sale of Song, but if it's a concerted effort to overhaul the team as opposed to panic selling then I think it makes it more palatable. Maybe I'm clutching at straws and want this activity to mean more than just losing players yet again though. After these years of losing players due to our ambition, it would be nice to go into the season feeling there was a purpose and reasoning behind getting rid of players other than it simply being due to our hand being forced.
Any more of Darren Dein's boys left after Song? I sure well hope not, what a tosser he's been for us
I wonder if they can issue a kind of "unofficial warning" to players - associate with him and you'll be song'ed.
Is there anyone left? AFAIK that's it.
Was bartley a darren dein?
