Surely there's enough speculation for him to have his own thread now.

The rumours about Barca's interest are getting stronger and stronger. Song has three years left on his contract, and it seems as though Arsenal hold most of the cards on this one.

AS are reporting that Barca's VP is in London negotiating with Arsenal.

So what does everyone think?

I'm assuming they want him as a CB

No need to sell. Will only do so if good offer. Can be replaced with relative ease

Wenger said yesterday that Barca haven't even contacted Arsenal about Song. I think it's bullshit.

If we sell anyone from the first team as well as RVP this summer it'll be a massive mistake, especially Song.

Apparently the Wenger quotes came from a dodgy source. Keep Song, sign Sahin. Need the team settled at the start of the season, losing Song and RVP together will have a big impact in the short term.

Wenger was saying that we're stronger as we have a more settled squad.

Song won't go this summer

There are quotes floating around from Carlos Kameni claiming that Song told him he wanted to go to Barca when they were vacationing together this summer. No idea if the quotes are real though.

Sky Sports News: "Barcelona vice-president Josep Bartomeu is in London to finalise a deal for Arsenal midfielder Alex Song. Barcelona's offer for Song is at £13m, Arsenal will sell for £15m."

What a load of tosh.

Feels kind of strange to see one of our own player's name in the 'Red Tops' section.

Did Sky sports news really have that on their tv station or was it an online article?

Neither, as far as I can make out. Seems to be completely made up.

We will sell him for £15m?

Okay... 😆

Reliably informed that this is his replacement:

think he's off. rac1 reports that negotiations are moving along and the clubs could come to an agreement soon. doesn't really bother me that much. song is replaceable. diaby could do a similar job and sahin is a better player.

Those of you who've seen more of him, would Sahin be an adequate replacement for Song? Not like for like I understand, but could Sahin and Arteta, for example, be a better centre mid partnership than Song-Arteta?

I'm not convinced they would be.

Sahin is good, but I think we'd be safer getting in a khedira type
