Supposed to be a big talent. Leighton Baines is who I've heard him compared to. Seen him a little bit myself and he has a great left foot.

Southampton's chairman is a horrible bastard though, and really doesn't like us, can't see it happening for that reason. Even if Shaw pushed hard for it, and I don't think he will because he signed a pro contract without any hesitation, we wouldn't match the crazy amount their dickhead chairman would demand.

We have an impressive young left back ourselves, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill. Done well for the England youth sides, and is 6 months younger than Shaw. Supposed to be highly rated by our coaches.

Why doesn't Cortese like us? He's got every reason in the world to. We've paid Southampton better for talents like Walcott and Chamberlain than any other club we've ever signed young players from.

Southampton fans say he is another "elite" talent and will cost oxlade money. Being played on the right to develop his right foot because his left is way too good already. Similar to gareth bale.

Well if he's being compared to Leighton Baines then he can't be THAT elite.

Think it's mainly because of his quality left footed delivery. More common an observation seems to be the comparison with Bale in terms of playing style.

Mainly because he's a dickhead, but also because he really, really didn't take kindly to Chamberlain making him look stupid by pushing so hard for the move to us. Cortese had said over and over he wasn't for sale, that they were a big club and would keep him. Think he has small man syndrome or something.

It'd take a mountain of cash to get him to agree to sell Shaw to us.

Good full backs are pretty rare these days.

If he's really such a good prospect, we should try and get him. But that's after we conclude other business first.
