I've not seen all that much of him (shock horror!), what makes him so good?

If you take Arteta from last season and add some speed and a bit better vision and execution of the final pass then you have Sahin. He's pretty much what Fabregas would have become if Wenger didn't shift him to no.10.

Pretty much this

I've been following this kid since '07 and have signed him for Arsenal in every football-oriented video game I've happened to play since then. Tells you all you need to know about him.

i guess that ends the debate then. coombs says he's good in FM and fifa, folks.

I know he is Turkish, but who in his right mind would choose Galatasaray over Arsenal? Or even Tottenham?

Exactly, would be a strange move for him to make.

As I said a few pages back, I think you have to appreciate the human aspect. Coming to London where he probably doesn't know anyone, a culture and language he may be very unfamiliar with and playing in a league which routinely takes months to adapt to. Possibly living in a hotel room for 10 months. And by the time he's started to get in the swing of things and feeling comfortable Madrid have told him they want him back and have no interest in selling him.

He won't go to Galatasaray. Turkey is a joke these days.

Wouldn't believe a word their sporting director says either, Galatasaray are always 'close' to someone or other.

Speaking of Turkey hows our old friend Eboue doing?

Would midfield trio of Sahin, Arteta and Song be too blunt?

Good to know that we seem to be fighting to get an option to buy on the player, as if he has a great season the last thing you want is for R.Madrid to reap the awards........they might do even if we buy the player and then buy him back but at least we get paid then :p

I hope we sign him, sahin with cazorla and our midfield would be something. His half German isn't he, couldn't per and podolski have a word.

I'm not that enthused about just a loan; really hoping for more than that.

Right, but say Madrid absolutely will not allow us the option to buy him next summer then surely a loan is better than nothing?

Why would it be Sahin or nothing though?

Yeah, certainly better than nothing. He will play for his future, so he will certainly give it his all. He will be a good stop gap for a number of youngsters coming through. We are looking at short term options for the squad which isn't a bad thing. He is quality. Reyes wasn't particulary brilliant at Madrid in his loan season, but his goals did win them the title. If Sahin is physically ready to contribute and has not rusted sitting on the sidelines for one season, he will be a great player to have even if for a season.

Would it be easy to find alternatives at Arsenal prices though?

Anyway, I understand why this one might drag on. Our midfield looks alright for the opening few games and if we can convince Madrid to let Sahin go permanently then it's worth the wait.

Also, has any credible journo/website broken this story?

I wouldn't totally be against it as he may have a good season and enjoy himself here and might start demanding to stay and that might work in our favour. R.Madrid have been known to let go of their players on the cheap once they want out (if they think they don't have a future there) or are surplus to requirements which he might become if they sign Modric.

With Ramsay still being hit and miss and Wilshire still a good few months away we need to make sure we are well covered in that position
