I got that same impression. And Liverpool are the obvious destination from Madrids' point of view. If he plays superbly, then he comes back with confidence and with less pressure to remain at Anfield because they will most likely not challenge for the title. If he plays at a level Madrid don't deem acceptable, they sell him to a team they are b[/b] less likely to have to possibly deal with in Europe in the future.
Also, there's no point in considering this done until he's holding up the shirt. This "saga" has twisted and turned so many times, would anyone be surprised if he came here in the end? I wouldn't be. By more than a few accounts the player preferred us, and as I think we all are well aware that these days, the players have a hell of a lot of the power.
