Don't really have a clue, but I'd say winning the PL title (which won't happen) would make it far less likely for Wenger to leave, contrary to Kurtz's theory.

It's guesswork, of course - I just get the impression that he would like a change in his career at some point, one last opportunity somewhere else, and if he's going to do that, it realistically has to be now - unless he wants to manager towards & maybe into his 70s, which I just can't believe.

The way he talks about retirement from football, as something on par with death, makes me think he will go on as long as he is healthy. He has said as much previously btw. Not at all sure he wants 'another challenge' or something like that. One may question Wenger on many things, but his love for Arsenal is not one of them.

I've always had the exact opposite feeling - that he is the loyal type.

Obviously he is loyal, and obviously I called it completely wrong, but what I mean is that I don't expect Arsenal to be his last job in management. Even if he stays 3 more years, reckon he'd like a crack at PSG or something before he finally retires.

Yes, I'm thinking along these lines as well. I don't even know if that great "love for Arsenal" is necessary for it to be true (and I'm not opening the subject of whether it is genuine - if it is it only adds some weight here) - he seems to be completely taken by doing exactly what he does, and one might imagine "exactly" really does mean down to the details. I can't see him be like that at Real Madrid, or in a Chelsea type situation. He's not a man for that.
Exactly for all the reasons that drive biggus mad, he loves his little Arsenal bubble-football shrine/laboratory. No body can mess with his tubes and bottles, and he can play all he wants. And that's all he wants.

He could get tired of it all at some point. but I can't say he looks at all like somebody near that point (sorry, Biggus). All his anthropological/documentarist observations on the Fergie retirement ("I noticed some things about his behavior") don't sound at all like he's identifying something he is passing himself. Sounds more like Somebody preparing for a long stretch in the new era.

I don't have a shred of doubt that he wants the trophies and his place at the top back very very badly. But, sometimes, his compassion for the people that he works with (a quality that makes him such a great coach) gets the better of him.

The good thing is that - it looks like he is beginning to get less and less compassionate about his players after what has happened in the last two or three years.

That may be true (I also hope so), but the other component - that you need to spend some money to get to the top quality level - is still not there. Stability is nice, and our team might actually do better even if we don't spend 70 mil. But - just as a reminder - "Seaman; Cole, Adams/Kown, Sol, Lauren; Ljungberg, Gilberto, Vieira, Pires; Begkamp, Henry" - That is how a top team looks like. Proportions.
So his "new found ruthlessness", ha, is nice, but we need much more than that.

Wenger should squash that Stephane Courbis agent guy like a bug.
He's just fishing and stirring - he admits that there's been no contact from Barca or Bayern and then he claims Kos is on a shortlist of three or four players for both clubs.

Good opportunity to cash in on asset number 6. His NBV is only going to reduce, plus it'll be a dandy reason for wenger to reinstate capi vermaelen!

We're not going to be forced to sell any assets this summer.
The only way Kos is leaving is if he's going to pull a Cesc and threaten strike action.

We only sell assets (key players in their prime) when forced to do so by the asset who wants to be sold.
