Those were both occasions when he was thrown into the team on a wim and then got benched again, though. You can't perform without any continuity. Per and Vermaelen have done worse things on several occasions this season but they never seem to run out of favour.
For me it's simple: You let our defenders play ten games of similar difficulty in a row and Koscielny will be head and shoulders above the other two. That's the only thing that should matter when you put together a defence.
