do you not think he's error prone? i see mistakes at the back and bad passes straight to the opposition quite often. you simply cannot make mistakes at the back.

we should adopt more drastic measures, like shooting a kitten every time kos messes up.

He is abit dumb sometimes, but he is still our best defender on paper imo. Just start him more consistently and we should be okay.

Love Kos, but I do think that events like those yesterday show a serious lack of judgement. We can't afford to be handing matches to beatable opposition.

Gave away a penalty and got himself sent off doing too much to defend what would've been a tricky chance. Bad, bad error.

The second goal was worse. Not the strike itself because Milner's never going to hit a shot like that again but the way the our team just went through the motions while Vermaelen and Per did not bollock anyone into reacting.

The way the defence plays when he's in it makes me think he doesn't communicate.

It seems like everytime he makes a mistake, it is catastrophic, it's an own goal, leads directly to a goal, or is a penalty/red card. He's got to be the unluckiest defender in that respect. Vermaelen makes more mistakes but they don't seem to cost us directly, and Mertesacker too (although he makes less because of his style of play).

The last time Wenger benched Mertesacker in favour of the Vermaelen-Koscienly partnership Vermaelen had a mare against Chelsea and now it was Kocienly's turn. If Dzeko had rolled him he should just accept he got done rather than be so stupid.

Apart from probably Mertesacker and probably Sagna all our defenders can't really anticipate play, so clever strikers will make mugs of them.

Maybe it's playing on the right hand side of defence that is the problem? He never made positional errors when he was on the left last season.

You don't turn into a bad player overnight. He was clearly immense last season. Even in Euros he was the best french player

Seems to be a fairly standard procedure now; Vermaelen, Djourou, Koscielny... see a pattern there? Completely expect Mertesacker to be toilet next season.
