It was the opposite for the best part of last year though. Vermaelen could do no wrong alrhough he was horrendous, and it took a long time for Kos to get the credit he deserved last year. People's perceptions take a long time to change.
This year, Kos has been poor, and there may be some mitigating reasons for it (lack of playing time, different partners, etc.), just like there were for Verm last year (return from injury, out of position, etc.). Kos's mistakes always tend to result in a goal though, he's a bit like Fabianski that way. Whereas often when Szcez would do something wrong, it wouldn't cost a goal.
All I know is that we probably have the best 3rd CB in the league, and with the amount of games and injuries that will come, we should be happy about that.
