Djourou is comfortably better than Miquel though. How an almost 60 year old Jason Roberts turned Miquel in the box the other day would no way have happened with Djourou.

I rate Miquel and generally feel he has been impressive when I have seen him, but let us not go overboard here.

Honestly don't rate Miquel as a defender. If he's going to be good he has a loooong way to go.

He looks calm, composed and he generally makes good decisions. He is also good on the ball and positions himself well on the pitch. Seems like good ingredients in a CB to me.

Miquel ALWAYS looks pony for the reserves. When he's played with the first team he's done really well imo.

His decision making is ok, but ok isn't good enough with his lack of pace and mobility, it needs to be superb along with his positioning. He also get's beaten far too easily at times. The Jason Roberts turn isn't an isolated incident.

Miquel should go on loan to a premier league side where he can be play most matches, right now he looks good in the few first team games he has played, reminds me a little of pique.

I don't think Miquel is that slow, he played fullback for a while and looked alright. In fact he's been decent every time he's played in the first team -in some pretty tough games as well.

I don't think he's better than Djourou but he's worth keeping around for a couple more seasons to see if there's anything there. Ideal candidate for a loan really.
