He's both pacey and skillful. He played wide during his breakthrough season but he looks better centrally (you could say the same about Podolski I suppose). I'd imagine that we'd tweak the formation if we signed him.

Jovetic Giroud Podolski as a new frontline looks very promising, lots of goals spread out.

We're not going to sign him. This is just alot of wishful thinking from people who've admired Jovetic for a while now they've decided RVP out = Jovetic in.

Sounds about right.
I am in that camp too though. 🙂

what i want to know is: is dick law on the case yet?

Here's what they said:

Wenger is understood to have Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic as his No.1 target, but he faces competition from Chelsea for a player who is also valued at around £25m.

:hmm:
Though it's still a hazy possibility.

Wenger and Kroenke are seemingly "smarting" over the criticism of the way they run the club 🙂

How many attacking players do Chelsea want this summer? Selfish cunts.

Would be surprised if we spend 20 to 25mill on a player. Juve are rumoured to be interested in signing him up.

Jovetic is a player well worth breaking our transfer record for.

Apparently Fiorentina are interested in Chamakh so we got some kind of advantage.... i think

They've been interested in Chamakh for quite a while and need money, which is why this rumour just became a little more likely. They would get both a striker and some significant money in exchange for Jovetic. And they'd avoid selling their fan favourite to another Italian team.

I think Chamakh would do well in Florence if he could man up and get back to the player he used to be too. They've got one of the best crossers in Europe in Vargas who'd thrive on having someone with proper heading ability up front.

It all just sounds a little too good to be true. Maybe we'll flog Chamakh off to them, but these player-plus-cash deals rarely seem to be real or go through.

We had some kind of agreement with Lorient when we bought Kos that saw Coquelin leave on loan for a season the other way. Technically the deals weren't connected but it's rather logical that the loan was part of the offering. Perhaps we'll pull something similar here. I'm sure the subject of Jovetic will be raised if we're really discussing transfers with them.

Yes, the news that we're in discussions with Fiorentina at all is good.
We can offer them less useless players than Chamakh if pushed.
Bendtner, Arshavin or Vela might not be what we need but they might be a tempting enough prospect for a club that's struggling to afford better?

I like the little I've seen of Jovetic. Looks like he has everything.

For those that have seen more, just how good can he be?

Maybe its the hair but he does remind me of a less skillful Ronaldinho.

Reminds me more of Rooney, but I've seen next to nothing of him.

I've only seen him on Youtube, but with his hair, style of play and place of origin he has a touch of the Dejan Savicevic's about him. Understand he's more of a forward than Savicevic, doubt he's as talented though.
