Spain haven't 'betrayed their philosophy' they've always been negative.
They weren't negative in the slightest in Euro 2008, where they played with two out and out strikers. Went on to score the 6th highest number of goals in a tournament by an int. side in a major tournament.
Then they appointed Del Bosque who has done brilliantly but made Spain less exciting. Still, without him I doubt they would have won the world cup or have even made a final appearance .
Hope Italy win - and not because I dislike Spain. I genuinely have enjoyed Italy's contribution this tournament - tactically, technically and Balotelli.
