France were poor for most of the tournament. Totally deserved to go out.

France actually worked their way out of the tournament as opposed to growing as the tournament progressed.
Started off quite competently against England, looked OK against Ukraine, then fell flat and disintegrated against Sweden, fell out, and showed up to play Spain without any real commitment or fight.
Failure of management, the players are clearly difficult but you have to find a way to make them gel and work.
Blanc not up to it this time around.

I thought they were dissapointing against England.

England just sat back and let them have the ball, and France were happy to continue with their Nasri-like safe passing in front of the England defense and midfield, never really adding any spark, creatvity or determination to make something happen.

France were hyped up going into the tournament, a bit like Holland. Although at least with Holland you can understand it since they were coming off a World Cup final.

France did go into the tournament on a 22 game unbeaten run or something like that.

Those types of runs are meant to be broken. 😉 Especially, when there was so much talk about it before they'd delivered any indication of improving on their tournament form. Oh well, they won 1 game so I guess that's an improvement from 2010 and 2008.😆

Indeed there was no urgency, they just sat off and let Spain do their thing, they should have pushed up and pressed them not leaving them a second to dwell, they will inevitably make a mistake- Thats the way to beat sides like that.

Getting rid of Nasri was the best thing that could ever happen last season. He is so detrimental to team morale and our direct game we played out last season. Fuck that cunt, I hate him more than Ade now btw.

Anybody thinks Ribery played very similar to Gervinho yesterday? Always trying to run to the byline, taking that unnecessary extra touch, cut backs not being very effective.

Koscielny won himself lots of admirers last night. French commentary were impressed and a little surprised at how well he shackled Torres and the number of blocks he made. Made the most successful passes of any defender last night as well. He really was an 'under the radar' player. I don't think he will be anymore.

Newcastle simply moved too quick. They secured him even before the season ended. At that point of time we had no need for him. Cesc and Nasri was still here
