And fuck it, if goes that's fine too. He's eminently replaceable and we could easily come out with a better team with the right signing. Let Barcelona deal with his indiscipline and tactical stupidity.

Random rumour that Arsene will insist on taking Tello as part of the deal.
Not wholly distressed about the thoughts of losing Song's input into the team, just annoyed that yet again Barca are involved and concerned that we're not going to get Sahin.

Definitely making me reconsider my dismissing M'vila as a signing this summer.

There's a bit of a loser's mentality at the club and by the end of this summer we could see an entirely new first 11 to the one that started the Carling Cup final.

Get out the players who've failed us time and time again and bring in some new blood, if we lose we can't continue to lose with the same people.

I don't know if it's in Wenger's thinking but I've always advocated selling certain players simply because they've gotten too used to losing! A gradual squad overhaul is in effect and I think certain players need to go just because they were part of an era. leftover players I'd put in that category are Diaby, Walcott, Ramsey, Gibbs and possibly Song. Now I like Song and I'm not saying all have to go or at once but I'm very much an advocate of a refresh just because

Anyone who witnessed last summer and understands what happened would clearly say no.

We do appear to be organised and pro active this summer though.

As for refreshing and selling players who are part of a losing set-up - I've no problem with that as long as we sell players who are genuinely infused with loserishness 🙂

Song's not, neither is Theo.

There are fair enough arguments to support selling both I guess (not both in this transfer windows though), them being losers is not one of them.

Fair enough y va, I don't think Wenger ever wanted to sell Nasri though and Fabregas obviously forced his hand, the little spanish vermin he is coming out saying how much he loves the club. If he loved it so much he would have stayed.

Agree with Lagos to an extent tbh. Both Song and Walcott have a veneer of mental softness and unwarranted satisfaction with what they've achieved. Wouldn't be too upset to lose either, but prob not best to do it in this window all things considered.

In other words they're smug, complacent and lack fighting spirit?
They're certainly not fan favourite material, and their perceived value to the team is well short of their actual value.
They annoy people so nobody would be too bothered if they were to be sold.
Easy enough then to ignore the fact that along with van Persie they were responsible for pretty much most of the goals we scored last season.

Exactly.

Song looked great a few years back, but recently he's seemingly lost all discipline. I don't like his passing, it's overrated, and for every time rvp pulled out a world class volley to make the ball count as an assist, song hit numerous wayward sloppy balls which meant we needlessly conceded possession and were put under pressure.

Don't get me wrong, song has some brilliant strengths but he's too inconsistent. He would absolutely have to change his ways to be a hit at barca.

Meanwhile I feel confident we can get someone in to better fit the way we want to play

Likewise giroud podolski and cazorla were responsible for most of their teams goals last year
