In reality we haven't finished a season ahead of Man U since 2005.

In reality Man U generate more money than we do and can thus compete in a way we can't.

I'd say those things combined easily separate the clubs by at least half a tier. 🙂

Only number 1 and number 4 actually count for anything in this context, and number 4 would depend on Arsenal and how badly we wanted Kagawa.

Fact is, Arsenal is a massive football club, and if we asked any available player, with the exception of a very elite few, to hear what we were peddling they would listen. After that it depends on what the player is looking for and how we sell ourselves.

Also cant discount the role of agents and advisors, a clubs 'industry' reputation and a bunch of other stuff.

Despite seeming to be the general presumption, We don't know that it's just us vs Man u that's in for him. Even if they don't get him, there probably are a few other clubs to beware of.
