I like him but it makes absolutely no sense to rush him back from injury for the last game of the season.

He always needs like 5 games to get back to top form too

If Oxlade was given Theo's role, it'd all be fine. If Oxlade was given Rosicky's role, it'd all be fine. Just give him a key attacking role from the start. I don't know what Wenger is thinking. We need some balls in the final third. Some who can run at defenders and create something. Someone who is willing to have a crack from 20 yards. And there's nobody else we have who can do that.

Only the one change - Jenkinson in for Sagna. The rest will be unchanged.

Well if we were to repeat the second half performance from the last game then we would be quite fine offensively. Like 5 clear chances were created but it still wasn't enough. We have to keep a clean sheet to begin with and hope RvP will score the one.

I don't think that's fair at all. Coming on with 15 mins to go when you're chasing a game and the opposition sat back, it's a much more difficult role.

He has hardly had a proper look-in after his Milan performance. Is Wenger afraid that he would've been taken to the Euros? It's ridiculous that he has not been starting. Nobody is saying he will start winning us games left, right and centre but you have to play your best players. Like it or not, that 18 year old kid is our second best attacking player available right now, and he should be starting.

It's too late now anyway. Damage has been done.

We've not been chasing the game every time he's come on though and, even if that were the case, you're looking for some kind of impact to justify him playing 60-70 minutes in a game. He's featured in pretty much every since game since that Swansea defeat way back in January.

He's not been starting since he scored that own goal against Sunderland (and looked pretty cut up about it) prior to that he started SIX out of the 7 games, starting with United at home. I think the Sunderland game may have forced Wenger to start protecting AOC again.

Personally, I think Benayoun more than deserves to start against WBA and Gervinho/Oxdale are in the same vein of form.

Gervinho is in far better form than Chamberlain.

I do worry about this over-hyping of Chamberlain, I've done it myself and when he had that couple of games earlier in the season it was very hard not to but he's since shown his age and inexperience and people need to calm down and stop acting like he's the solution to many of our problems. If he doesn't live up to these unrealistic expectations I can see alot people slating him in 2 years saying things like "he's had 2 years now and he hasn't reached the levels we hoped" despite the fact he'll only be 20 in 2 years time. Its the same old bullshit, rinse and repeat.

Yep, I was guilty of thinking Chamberlain was already ready to be a first team regular following his performances when he came into the team after Christmas, particularly after his performances against United and Blackburn.
But the away games to Sunderland seemed to knock him off his stride, I still think he's got it in him right now to have a great game, or great moments within games, but he has not yet got the force of personality or belief in himself to be relied upon to turn games around.

From what I've seen of him in interviews he strikes me as the type of character who might have a tendancy to dwell on mistakes, or overthink his performances.

Needs to be allowed the time and space to develop without the pressure of having to carry a slightly dysfunctional team.

Even in the last month or so, he started against Newcastle and Chelsea. Don't think he made much impact in either game, he's got bags of ability but we can't rely on him this early on for his own sake.
