When watching the Dutch play, I found it quite strange that none of them seemed even remotely interested in playing quick, short passes to draw the Danes out. No one tried to double up on the Danish defence or play cute passes between the midfield at defence while the fullbacks refused to join the attack. Which was odd because van der Weil is supposedly one of the more offensive right backs around?
Sneijder's fantastic on the ball but most of his passes are medium to long length and Robben is the most selfish footballer I've ever seen. van Persie would probably prefer to play a shorter passing game but there's no point if his midfield want to play another way.
