I wonder if people might underestimate Italy in this tournament, speaking of. They have a pretty great squad to pick and choose from. Di Natale, Giovinco and Cassano constitute their attack with Balotelli as an outside option. In midfield they have a reborn Pirlo, who was perhaps the best midfielder in Europe last season, along with De Rossi and Marchisio (or possibly Nocerino, who had an arguably even better season). Their defence will be mostly made up of players who were key to Juventus going unbeaten the entire season. And Buffon will be in goal of course. On paper their starting eleven isn't far behind Spain and Germany. Not sure they have enough depth to go all the way - and I don't like Prandelli - but I think they will surprise during the group stage.
