Lazio playmaker Hernanes issues come and get me plea to Arsenal

Would be a perfect signing for us, but i just cant see wenger signing a good attacking south american player, his missed out on or refused to sign alvarez then jadson and then suarez this is probably another one of those "rumours"

Not sure how we are in pole position as the first line suggests, but I would personally go to Naples to help him pack for London.

2 assists and 8 goals in 30 games is not all that impressive. I have never seen him though, so I'm not necessarily against the signing just because of the stats, but it would be nice of someone could explain what kind of player he is.

Am I the only one who doesn't want this to happen? Haven't been following him closely, but from the 10ish games I've seen he has been pretty average. Only good thing was his decent shot from distance, but other than that he looked physically weak and his technique and passing didn't stand out.

With that said 10 games is not a big sample to judge a player, so if anyone has been impressed by him feel free to change my view 😉

Is he not supoosed to have excellent technique?
Sublimly skilled, two footed but lacks pace is what I read.
Best deployed in a deep midfield role from where he initiates attacks.
Creative, retains and distributes the ball well.
I've no idea, I watch very little serie A and I don't remember him from any recent Brazil games.
Just a big question mark for me on this then.

Sums him up pretty well. Technically he's as good as anyone we have. Superb at striking the ball, dribbling and finding passing angles. Remarkably I think he's scored most of his goals from outside the box. I don't think we have a single player apart from Arteta who even tries to shoot from that distance usually.

I haven't paid that much attention to him this season but he's done well whenever I've seen Lazio. He was ridiculously good last season though. He tore through opponents on his own. One of the best debut seasons I've seen in a long time.

Just on the bits pieces I've read today I've got an image of an Arteta, but more eyecatching and unleashed, style player in my mind.

Sure. Hernanes is not a holding midfielder but he likes to play in an advanced central position. They're different players but Edu played in the same space on the field if that helps.

Allegedly he's told Lazio he wants to come here.
I'm beginning to warm to this idea.

Though this assessment of him gives me a little bit pause for thought

I don't know though, something about this rumour has me thinking he could be a classic Wenger signing, a technically gifted player who's not quite hit the heights whilst playing in Italy.
He's just the right age too.
