What is Rosicy's station?
He's played his way into being a first choice midfielder at the moment.

Why do you guys dislike him so?
I admit I wanted him jet propelled out of here in January but he's won me around a little following his recent spell of bizarrely decent form.

I still don't love him but I can tolerate him and see that he's been useful.

Don't hate him, but two good games in three years isn't going to convince me that an over the hill midfielder is anything but.

I too wonder if that's how I should view Rosicky.
I don't quite trust that he can keep playing at his current level for any great length of time.

He's good at running with the ball so until jack and abou are back or until arsene starts playing chambo centrally he should start

2 good games isn´t quite right, but I agree in general with what you are trying to say Capi. He still disappoints in the final third IMO.

He's nicknamed Deuce 🙂.
Better than Clinton Drew but Dempsey would do.

Personally I think Rosicky's form has been genuinely world class for the last 6 weeks or so. One of the best midfielders in the country over that period. And I think he just might maintain at least decent form for a while yet, and in to next season.

Good to see someone give him some credit! Not only has his recent form been excellent but i think he put in quite a few good performances throughout the season. Needs more end product but a very decent squad player imo.

As for Dempsey....

I think he's absolute quality. I have a feeling that Wenger will be happy with the midfield and won't strengthen there. If thats the case then along with Podolski i'd bring in Dempsey. Would be an alternative to RvP, an option wide left and in the AM role. Our attack would be a lot stronger.

Ideally though i'd like to see someone like Kagawa and a striker brought in but don't think it will happen so i'd go for Dempsey who offers a bit of everything as well as other benefits.

Its the role he seems to play the most and I presume its his most comfortable position. Probably wouldn't be as involved in the build up as Rosicky but would obviously offer more of a goal threat. Probably ideal for home games against teams that come to sit deep.

Make no mistake though, Dempsey is not lacking when it comes to passing or technique and is more than capable of playing in a team that plays good passing football. I think he'd be very comfortable playing anywhere in the front 4 positions.

Heck he's even played as a CM in a 4-4-2 for Fulham quite a bit and done fine.

Oh, maybe its just when i've seen him he's played more in the centre then. Either way he's comfortable in both roles.

Thanks for that table, Y Va. I didn't realize Dempsey's stats were THAT good. I was just impressed from watching him, and seeing him continuing to improve at the ripe age of 29. Not many forwards in this league do that. Only Drogba has in recent years shown the capacity to keep improving at a similar age. He can be a tremendous asset if he can settle in.

Remember seeing Dempsey for the first time at the world cup before he went to Fulham and thought he had the talent to make it in europe. Hasn't quite turned out the way that I imagined at the time but he is an effective player and that's what this league is all about now.

Funny that Dempsey has almost slipped under the radar this season.
All the talk has been of Ba and Bale and the usual suspects but Dempsey has actually been up there with the best.
