Seen what they are about on YouTube now. Indeed, they both look pretty amazing, and especially the surface book I have to say. Both of them are certainly going to cost an absolute bomb though...

That's pretty standard for new MBPs, but those are pretty hot specs for an ultrabook or less sized device.

My 2 yr old i5 Surface Pro performs better than my 5 year old i7. Stuff is streamlined and I wish I had the cash to splurge on Surface 4.

Surface Pro 4 with the i7 processor is what I have my eye on. At least until I see what that sweetie is going to cost. 🙂

I'm going to have to buy a used SP3, some unexpected car repairs have destroyed my SP4 budget 🙁

Yeah I'm not getting the hype. Have not heard anything about it outside this forum. Sounds like one of those windows tablets. Call me old fashion but a laptop should be just a laptop and not some kind of hybrid with a tablet. None of that touchscreen nonsense.

Surface book is Microsoft's just recently released first laptop. Looks amazing.

The surface book is amazing alright but the price is just stupid - particularly for the top model.

Both these machines sure pack a punch. Not yet totally convinced I'll be comfortable with 10.3 inch screen though.

Maybe Rex, I'll take a look at their website and see what all the fuss is about in the morning.

I dunno bandy. Just seems so weird. I have a iPad and I have a laptop. Just don't think they work well together. I'd been to PC World about 18 months ago when I was buying a laptop for my little sister and considered those touchscreen ones but it just felt too gimmicky for me.

A Surface Pro is nothing like an iPad though.

I know, just mean that I had a tablet and a laptop and that each one is good for different things and that I couldn't see a hybrid being practical. At the least the models I saw back then didn't seem to be.

You are absolutely right. Don't know what I was thinking; I have drooled over the specs on the one with the i7 processor enough times. 🙂

I have a laptop with a touchscreen. You are absolutely right that it is totally crap feature on a regular laptop, and I never use it. Now, if you can fold back the keyboard, which you can on certain models, then I can see how the touchscreen is useful as you can use the device as a tablet. Having said that, the Surface Pro series and the Surface Book are clearly much better machines, where you can truly get a laptop and a tablet in the same device.
