His touch to round the keeper was too heavy, he panics but he's too big and slow to coordinate his entire body. It's as if his right leg wanted to chase the ball while the rest of him collapsed.
Or he didn't fancy a shot with his weaker foot.

Was expecting Krul to muller him and hung out a leg accordingly.
Wonder if Rafa will return next season? He's still got a house in Liverpool and seems desperate for a job.
If he does, it'll either be a disaster or a prolonged irrelevance. Benitez is an erratic, high-spending manager whose gifts aren't enough to elevate the existing squad to major trophies. That plus the weight of expectation would see him fail.
Honestly think Carroll starts to dive, realises Krul has missed him and the ball is still at his feet, takes another touch (that last half-tap) while falling, perhaps imagining he can still right himself, then realises he can't and goes through with the dive. Bad play or bad simulation, either way it's no good
Normally I'd be dying for United to lose but I think City will be quite crushed if United win here,
which could mean they hit the Emirates outwardly still fighting but subconsciously broken.
Robinson did well with that deflection.
Tuned in. Saw Webb was the ref, switched off my TV set.
Typical. Bet on united and they let me down
That looked impressive from Valencia.
City fans must be sick sick sick right now.
Phew.
Oh, they play QPR just before we play City?
Could be eight points ahead - that could drain City.
Jeez, and there goes another screamer from Young.

Mancini said that if ManU win both, it's curtains.
Huge pressure on City.
Let's kill their title hopes!
Thing is with this united team I don't care so much. We were non events this season yet again, united failed in Europe and with barca about their arrogant fans know they arent the best, plus it'll just mean city will spend shed loads this summer. Only a matter of time til city win it

That's fairly pathetic from Mancini really.
I realise he's probably right but still, admitting that is lame.

Actually, now that I read it properly instead of just looking at the headline; he is saying that if ManU win both and City lose to us, it is curtains. Bloody journalists.
Ah ok , not quite so pathetic from Mancini then.
It is over though.
United fans are celebrating PL title already.
They might as well. It's an organization that has winning in its DNA from players to managers, administrators and fans. Just stinks of success. Bastards.
You have to feel a little sorry for Citeh. They're actually having a really good season. This United team is just under-appreciated.

Only one of those things has winning in its DNA, its the manager.
I don't feel remotely sorry for City.
In fact I feel faintly contemptuous of them for being broken by United.
I'd still rather see United lose it. Overall the clubs are as bad as each other but United fans are much, much worse.
Both have been shown up in Europe
Yes, I'm way way past caring which of them win it.
All I care about is finishing ahead of Spurs.
Limited I know, but that's the kind of season it's been.
Lagos wrote:If city don't win it, it's because they bottled it and so don't deserve it. If United win it it's because that's what they do and therefore deserve it. I really don't care who wins it....either way it's not us!
They've won the title so many times now, it's pointless worrying about them picking up another one.
Every United title matters, and much more than when some two bit club like City or Chelsea wins. Pretty disgusted with City's capitulation myself.
It'd bother me a lot more if we were proper contenders, but we're not. City have been a thorn in our side for about 2-3 years now, destabilising and nicking players off us, they can get fucked and it thrills me no end to see them going belly up.
i'd rather see Citeh lose mainly because they took 2 players who would be starting for us and two decent options off the bench.
i don't mind Citeh buying the title. if Everton or Villa want to win the title, they'd have to go through the exact same process of cash-splashing to be competitive.

For a season yeah.
But for City it was their first time in a hard group. Next season will probably be better.
For United it was poor but they're much more likely than us to reach the final and/or win it even next season. 3 CL finals in 4 years? In that time we reached the semis once and that's it.
We are shown up literally every season for 15 odd years bar the 2005/06 season.
Wenger really is poor on the European stage.
I am really worried about Barca. I actually don't care who wins it apart from Chelsea. If Chelsea do then it'll take years to get over it. Longer than it did for our QF against Liverpool in 2008.

Even without the money, City and Chelsea are not that two bit. Yes they have poor histories but they are more interesting than say Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves. Some of those 3 are older than City and Chelsea (being the founding fathers of English football and all) but flippin' hell they are dull clubs.
Would definitely prefer City winning it than United. And that is why I agree with Y Va on her view of them. I am really annoyed that they bottled it. They don't deserve to beat us at the Emirates. I will be fuming if they get a consolation win against us.
Not only that, but's bye bye 3rd place for us if City win.
Don't get me wrong I hate Chelsea.
I don't want this mini resurgence and I can see them pipping us for 4th.
@Tony Obviously I wouldn't take a loss for City at the Emirates just to see them beat United. They ought to be doing that under their own steam without help from us.
Pretty sure everyone understands how fucking annoying it is to see Ferguson lock down every record in the English top flight for the foreseeable future.
Back in the Invincibles day we had a comparable number of league titles (13 vs 15), now they'll be seven (7!) in front of us. Frankly if Abramovich hadn't sacked Mourinho, Wenger had invested in the squad a little more and Mancini was a better manager it'd probably only be 3-4 at most.

He would've won Champions League a couple of times by now with United's resources.
United fans are the worst really. Such a contemptible pack of twats with so little sportsmanship or lack of empathy for any other club. If only for that I'd rather City win, but if they do win, then you know that they'll have the title wrapped up by Christmas next season.
Really have no respect for what they are doing over at Man City. Glad it wonΒ΄t result in a trophy.

He should have won it in 2004. We had enough resources and the teams remaining in the competition were crap.
Personally I doubt Wenger would have won the CL with United in 2007-08 season like Fergie did. They played Barca in the semis and defended with their lives. They had to. Can you imagine Wenger standing for that? He's never beaten Barca over two legs.
We didn't have the depth in the squad, otherwise we wouldn't have crashed out of two competitions in the space of four days.
These days we've got an arguably better squad but less talent in the first 11.

I've not got any feelings one way or the other about City really, but they are very much a "two-bit" club imo. Guess which 'City legend ' they got to promote the friendly they're playing against us in the summer? Patrick Vieira! What kind of joke is that. There isn't one globally recognised former City player. Not one. Pretty pathetic.
Tony Montana wrote:He should have won it in 2004. We had enough resources and the teams remaining in the competition were crap.
That's one season out of how many? With arguably the greatest Arsenal side ever assembled at their very peak. Most teams need several years and hundreds of millions in investments to do it. Just look at Mourinho who had all the money in the world and still couldn't do it with Chelsea.

We would have beaten them over two legs without that fucking cunt of a referee last year.
