Yep, picked up the 520 on amazon off contract for 130€.

Loving it so far, I'm absolutely shocked at how quick and responsive the entry level model is, there has been no lag whatsoever and I've found it to be faster and less laggy than the iPhone 4s. There are some really cool features too, Nokia music is great for example. Will try out Nokia maps today!

lumia 520 is an incredible value. WP8 runs very smoothly even on entry level smartphones, no lag.

irish, the 929 looks really good. might be the last smartphone made under the nokia name since the microsoft acquisition has been approved by EU and US authorities 🙁

Few weeks on and really loving the Lumia 520 and WP8 for a first smartphone. At this stage I can't imagine any reason to switch away from Windows when the thing eventually needs replacing. Much more user friendly and faster than my partner's android (Samsung Galaxy Y I think it is). Range of apps is much smaller of course but I've been able to find options for everything I want so no problems there so far.

Tried out the Nokia GPS for the first time today and it was brilliant. First time I've ever used a GPS at all actually. Never usually go anywhere in Wellington that I don't know so usually no need for it but had to drop my partner at a birthday party in an area I've never been this afternoon so gave it a go. Love that you download the maps to your phone so you can use it offline, had always assumed you needed to be connected to the internet to use GPS on a phone.

i bought a nokia 521 for $60 as a 2nd phone. works smoothly. i also got $20 in my microsoft wallet to buy some apps to via this

i'll probably check out nokia for one of their better phones later this year. i already paid 600 bucks for a note 3, so i'm not spending something similar on a Lumia 1520 or something similar.

if you're on verizon, the lumia 929 might be a good option when it comes out.

Also loving my 520, been great so far. Other than the battery life, which is atrocious.

genuinely considering not upgrading at all once the 929 comes out though, I quite like the idea of letting my contract run out allowing me to get the same deal for 20€ cheaper per month 😃

Battery life has been about as expected for me - I played around with it pretty excessively for the first week or so but am over that phase now I'm more used to having it. Seem to charge it every 2-3 days which I guess isn't bad, although is taking some getting used to from the once a fortnight charge of my previous basic phone! My brother seems to have his Iphone 4s permanently on charge.

There would be very little point upgrading to a more expensive Nokia from what I can see. Not worth 3 or 4 times the price for a better camera.

Loving my week-old 5s. So snappy. The new OS really comes alive on it. Getting a galaxy mini tomorrow as travel loaner for work, so gives me a risk free way to test Android for two months

I just like the idea of a watch that is fully integrated with my phone. I am not even a 'watch person', but I may change my mind with a thing like this.

Essentially it's a device for another device. Phones are getting so flipping big that people are feeling like berks trying to wrestle it out of their pockets every 2 mins to see if some other berk they know on twitter/facebook has just left the toilet, now they can view all their essential info on their watches and keep their phablets in their pockets or bags.

Was perhaps wording it poorly, but I meant to ask whether any of you had tried one out. I am interested, but I figure I can do most of what these watches do via Tasker already. I'd really like to know if there are other features that I haven't thought about.

Tasker is the best app in the world btw. If you are interested in making your smart phone a gazillion times smarter, then that app is a must.
