we'd then have a top pool of players to put together solid base on which our attack can thrive. We may even be able to carry a luxury player, maybe give arshavin another shot

Just can't see that. He's not a good enough footballer to warrant that in my view.

I'd just give Ajax £25 million for Vertonghen and Eriksen and be done with my buying for the summer. Concentrate on getting rid of the dross and signing up Walcott and RVP.

If he's got the passing skills, then I'm all for it, but I've never seen him play in midfield so I wouldn't know. Like the sound of him being a bit of a tough nut though.

he's very good on the ball. has power and also a mean shot. he'd be a great option in midfield.

He's nothing amazing, no, but he's got potential to be a damn good player in my opinion. Certainly a much better centreback than he is midfielder.
