I got hooked because of Highbury more than anything. Had an interest in Arsenal before, but nothing serious. Then, when in London, Arsenal was the team I managed to get tickets for. Hooked after that. Shudder at the thought of what might have been, had I got tickets to the Lane then.

Ah yes GG is in Gothenburg to see the 92 Euro final, we were all intrigued as Denmark who didn't even qualify had to ring around and get their players back from holiday because Yugoslavia had been chucked out for a bit of mass rape concentration camp murder.
The Danes then astounded everyone by making it to the final to face the world champions Germany, oh well it was a nice dream.
But Faxe Jensen changed all that with an net bursting 25m goal from the curly haired katushya rocket to win it for Denmark.
I wouldn't mind some of that fire power at Highbury thinks George I'll even waive my usual bung fee.
So JJ was on his way to Arsenal and so was young Kel and 4 years and 1 wonderful goal later JJ left an Arsenal hero.

"Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has revealed he was in talks with Tottenham before he decided to join the Gunners.

Indeed the World Cup winner was talking to the north London rivals so close together that Spurs actually paid for his taxi on his way to sign for Arsenal.

He told the Daily Mail: “Before I signed for Arsenal, I had been in discussions with Spurs. I held a meeting at Tottenham, but I decided not to tell them my answer because I knew I was seeing Arsenal afterwards.

“At the time, I did not know the rivalry between Spurs and the Gunners, and I realised afterwards that I had got in a taxi which had been paid for by Spurs to sign for Arsenal."

I've just got round to watching the Football Focus episode from a few weeks ago with Keown interviewing Bergkamp. It's great watching some of the old footage of Bergkamp and the teams of a few years back and thinking that now we seem to be putting ourselves back in a position to win again.
