But seriously, who are we going to play in central midfield?

I actually had to go to Arsenal.com to check the squad list to see if I was forgetting someone. But no, Song is our only fit midfielder.

Now I'm looking at the reserve list to see who might be brought in. Yennaris? Henderson? Eastmond?:hmm:

Should be Ozyakup over Yennaris tbh. The former is the better mf imo, from what I've seen. Better passer/contributing in attack and at keeping the ball.

I'm not even sure Ozyakup would be eligible for the CL squad. Didn't we have to specify 20 odd players that we had to choose from?

Not that it would've made any difference but Arshavin would've played in this had he not gone on loan.

Played a more defensive role for the previous seasons(deeplying role), it's only this season were he played as an attacking mid.

If we assume that Wenger is comfortable playing Chamberlain in the Ramsey position, we only have to come up with one more player. Genuinely stumped as to who that will be.

I'm pretty sure he was in the cl squad against Olympiakos...

edit: In fact he was, so he's eligible

Don't see why he would play ahead of others who have gotten more first team exposure.

Cool. We have a reserves game in about half-hour. If he is not playing in that, it might mean Wenger's considering it.

And who are the others? Yennaris who primarily played at fb this season, who hasn't been as good as him in the reserves at mf? the horrendous player that is Eastmond? If the others are out Arteta etc, then that's what I'd prefer.

Eastmond will get a game, I think. He's the only one in the reserves who has experienced playing in the CL before.
