I think the boss is right. New contract is another matter, but as we were doubting he can even be useful in a marginal squad role till about 2 weeks ago, I think this point is beyond doubt by now.

Thought Walcott had a pretty good game overall, very good first half, average or ok second half. Most of our best attacking move came from the right, and Mesbah, Seriously how shit was he tonight? 😆

I've certainly seen Walcott play far worse...

Gary Neville knows his stuff but tonight I couldn't agree with him when he was criticising Walcott for dribbling infield at times. He NEEDS to vary his game somehow; not just the usual pathetic run-towards-the-byline-and-fall-over routine.

Only player I have any real complaints about tonight was Song. He was the main reason we lost all shape and control in the second half.

Drained. Disappointed but extremely proud.

Ox should start every fucking game. Play him and jack(when he returns) in the Centre, with Arteta playing the holding role. Song can start in place of Arteta against the smaller teams.

We'll be back next season, we've got some serious talents here. Now Wenger/the board please show some ambition and bring in at least one top quality wide player(Hazard/Goetze). Oh and a good backup striker.

I bet that chip/miss will be replaying in his head right now. But he's hardly the sort to let that affect him long term. I'm sure he'll fire in that same type of chance on Monday!

i cant believe anyone is actually complaining about anything the players didnt do tonight.. we beat Milan 3-0. sure, we didnt go through, but none of actually expected us to after lying down at San Siro.. we came mighty close, and i am proud of the team. this should spur us on for the rest of the season (as long as players stay healthy) so we can grab 4th and maybe even 3rd..

i dont really have many complaints.. not even for Song.. we were going for it, so him playing forward and creative was to be expected.

Yeah, the whole world saw it other than him. Park was actually free and bombing down like mad. I actually think he saw it as well but tried his hollywood pass or maybe he just didn't trust Park. If it came off, great. But if it dosen't it looked disgusting especially with 5 players ahead of him waiting for a simple pass.

Just rewatched the match. Rosicky clear MOTM. I think this performance might have been better than the Spuds one. He was absolutely everywhere. Anyone still want to question his commitment and says he doesn't put in challenges/trackback?

At half time I started to believe that MAYBE we could do it. Always felt Milan was clearly in the driving seat. We would have needed an early Van Bommel sending off in that second half for me to completely think it possible.

We had the chances to score that fourth, but in all honesty we never looked like we would keep a clean sheet. We were too open defensively the whole game. Milan on the night were poor at timing attacking runs, and in the end their finishing was atrocious.

Personallly I only really expected a bit more from Gervinho. He lacked initiative for me. Harsh to say anyone was terrible though.

As for Rosicky, there were plenty of times when I screamed at the telly for him to actually run and press instead of standing still and block a potential passing option. As a team either we press high or we stand off a bit. Too often it looks as if some of the players press and some stand off. That won´t work.

Thought Gervinho was our most disappointing player last night. Contributed virtually nothing in the first half when we scored 3, but did grow into the game in the second half, but ultimately with no end product. Has not been playing well since he came back from the ACN, so maybe it is a confidence issue. However with Arshavin now departed, he assumes an even important role in our front 3 and we need him to return to form sooner rather than later.

Gervinho's game is based alot on luck and chance. I dont think he has a clue in what he's doing out there. Walcott and Chamberlain should clearly be first choice for the rest of the season.
