Hmm, maybe, but its hard for me to really see Van Persie staying as a negative. If he signs up again, it'll be his last big deal, and he'll know it. He won't have anything to really be unsettled for, if anything, he'd be even more motivated to play well and retain his own status, and achieve as much as he can.
With Cesc and Nasri, they had just started to come into their real careers, their best years, etc. They were young, and had everything to complain about. Van Persie wouldn't have much more of a future as a player, so he'd really have nothing to do but his best for Arsenal.
I don't think we'd get 4 months worth of Van Persie next season with a new striker for 20 mill. What available strikers are out there for that kind of money, at that level of quality?
As for troublesome players, every title winning side has them. If we can't deal with them, we aren't winning anything. The best are the worst in many ways.
