He's upset that we didn't offer him £200k per week. That has been the indication for months but people chose to bury their heads in the sand; it's even clear in this very thread.

Rvps form towards the back end of the season has made me feel not too worried.

People are already assuming he'll be chamakh mk 2 but I really like what I've seen of giroud. Looks to have all the attributes to do well in England

Honestly van Persie's skill and style and goals were about the only thing that kept me sane watching us for a large part of last season.

Do you really think they said to RVP "oh yeah we'd sell those guys no problem"? Even if they would they're not going to say it to him in a meeting.

RVP made this decision ages ago.

That's the vibe I'm getting from the statement on his website too.

In any case, fuck it. Get a few midfielders and defenders into the side to help out Podolski and Giroud and we might come out of this looking less predictable than last season. The way we geared the whole team to support the centreforward was a massive disappointment on the whole. It was largely forgotten because Robin racked up the numbers but we played our least fluid football in many years.

He is gone like the rest of them, yes he's leaving to get more money but if obvious that the clubs lack of ambition is the major problem. Truth is paying top wages and showing ambition are the same thing, 100% blind loyalty doesn't exist. I just don't see how we can challenge for titles again with sort of attitude..

Possibly.

Yes Captain i guess you could say he picked off and poached a lot last season.
But he scored some greats too and he created and assisted.
He was in the thick of most of our attacks.
He did run out of steam at the end, no doubt about that but then again next to Szczesny he played more than any other player.

Agree with this fully. Giroud, podolski and theo know how to find the net. Trick is to give them frequent and decent supply. Chambo and jack will help, but we really need another supplier.

It really makes no difference whether his real motivation is money or trophies, and I'm surprised so many of you are trying to second-guess him. Whichever it really is, it'll make bugger all impact on where he plays next season. If it were just cash, he'd go to Azhni or PSG, but as it is he'll end up somewhere getting much more money and a much better chance of winning a trophy or two. He won't have to pick one or the other.

The major problem is and always will be the way football clubs are run. We can't compete with the top tier unless we get one of those fancy sugar daddies and that's an inescapable fact. Robin knew that a long time ago. If he wants to earn £230K per week and win trohies in Manchester he's well entitled to, but be fucking honest about it at least. Grow a bloody spine and tell it like it is, instead of blaming the club for not showing enough ambition. Don't expect people to pat you on the back after you've profited heavily from all the goodwill that your self-professed love for the club has generated, though, because they won't.
