Spread the message so the egg gets it
van Persie sold to Man United
We shouldn't sell RVP, even if it means his contract is run down. We need to spread the message to the club's hierachy.
If they sell him we should start an occupy emirates movement.
Keep him, no matter what.
Occupy Emirates if necessary.
Riot on eggman's doorstep.
I hold the opinion that ex navy men are all queer
It's not about whether we want to sell him or not I think (we'll give him whatever he demands when it comes to money), it's more down to what RvP wants or will want in the near future. If he wants to move to a "better" team then we might struggle to persuade him to do otherwise and to force him to stay if he doesn't want to be here anymore wouldn't make much sense either.
He deserves medals that man.
What a player.
I agree that we should keep him next season no matter what. At least it would give us a bit more time to find his successor. But I would love so much for him to see out his years with us. How many goals is he on now for us? 130ish? He could potentially be not far behind Henry...
his closing in on van nistelrooy and hasselbaink for top scoring dutchman in pl.
If he signs a new contract we need to sign an out and out striker so we can gradually move RVP into the number 10 role because I don't see him playing as a lone striker for more than another 2 years.
He will stay. Van Persie is one of those players who never forgets about the people who helped in his career, especially coming from Feyenoord who really hung him out to dry during his last year there.
If we get 4th which we will then he will sign on. Noway will he be allowed to leave anyway and the talks of us offering him a big contract and also agreeing terms with someone like Podolski should sway him.
I can't work out if his constant positive words about the club are an intimation he intends to stay, or softening us up for the treacherous blow of departure.
Either way at this point if we let him leave without putting 200k/w on the table we're nuts. Best striker bar none in the world at the moment.

Well that's just it, isn't it?
I don't like pundits and the media saying shit like "Where would Arsenal be without Van Persie?" as much as the next Arsenal fan. But...seriously....where would we be? If we get into a CL place this season (and it will still be very difficult even from here), that will be £20m+ that Van Persie has instantly earned for the club. We could cash in on him but we won't get more than £25m for a player in the last year of a contract and we won't accept offers from Man City (not that Robin would go there).
Keeping Robin and offering him whatever the fuck he wants is the best financial move for the club. I think he genuinely wants to stay, anyway.
Just offer him a statue with a new contract. #donedeal
150k / week + Goetze + Podolski - Arshavin - Chamakh = van Persie stays
If we keep him and he doesn't sign on then next summer he'll be the most sought after free agent in years and the deal of the summer for whoever signs him for nothing.
The board won't let that happen, I can't see them turning down a possible 50 million pound deal to please the fans,

On what planet will a club - other than Man City - offer anywhere near £50m for a 29 year old that has 1 year left on his contract who wants to leave a self-proclaimed selling club?
We'll get at most £25m.
For what it's worth Arteta gave a radio interview during the week and said that he did not expect that Robin would leave.
“He is completely unaffected by interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona and not thinking about his contract renewal either.”
I think Szczesny said something along those lines a few weeks ago as well.

Have to be honest, I never thought he'd be as good as he's become.
Really?
I was pretty sure that given an injury free stretch that he'd hit the heights.

I don't think anyone - even Van Persie himself, as he admits - could have expected he would perform at the level of Dennis in '98 and I don't think it's a stretch to say he is performing at a Thierry in '03/04 level.
3rd March and he has 30 goals; 25 league goals. And, as we know, he is so much more than goals. It is incredible.
Neither did I, and a lot of people would have cashed in on him this time last year.
And I still think he'll sign a new contract. Would you think him unambitious if he does that or will that make him a proper legend?
Ambitious for Arsenal and a proper legend if he signs.
I fancied him to thrive in this more advanced role, as a proper centre forward, when we moved him there a couple of seasons back, but he's the best striker in the world right now - not sure I quite expected that of him.
He's magic to watch isn't he?
Awesome.
oozes class
Class? He oozes it.
It is so unfortunate that his only injury free season has come when Cesc has left and our 2nd best player has missed the entire season.
Thinking about it, we had a really good team last season, tough luck that Van Persie and Cesc could manage only 19 games each and Vermaelen missed the season.
The story of Arsenal for a few years now.
No way would we be 7 years without a trophy if Fabregas and van Persie played a season together.
We had the best left back in the world and sold him.
Had the best midfielder in the world in fabregas and sold him.
Now we have the best striker in the world.
Wenger can produce magical players it's having them all fit and firing at the same time that's always been the problem. Put fabregas, cole, flamini and nasri in this team and we would be talking about a title challenge right now.
We need to surround robin with world class players in the summer and we need to do it fast

Faster than the summer?
Make signings in june early july. No more waiting till august 29th to make signings.
Or make more signings now with pre contract agreements. tie up poldoski and suarez then move onto midfield and defence.
I think we should cash in at the end of the season.
Imagine if we paid off another 30M off the stadium loan, it would be just like winning a trophy!

:hmm: They had better not be thinking that way.
You know they are Y va!

That's easy to say, isn't it? Put Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo in the United team..
Er... they were in the United team. And won lots of trophies together. In one year.
