We shouldn't sell RVP, even if it means his contract is run down. We need to spread the message to the club's hierachy.

If they sell him we should start an occupy emirates movement.

Keep him, no matter what.
Occupy Emirates if necessary.
Riot on eggman's doorstep.

It's not about whether we want to sell him or not I think (we'll give him whatever he demands when it comes to money), it's more down to what RvP wants or will want in the near future. If he wants to move to a "better" team then we might struggle to persuade him to do otherwise and to force him to stay if he doesn't want to be here anymore wouldn't make much sense either.

He deserves medals that man.

What a player.

I agree that we should keep him next season no matter what. At least it would give us a bit more time to find his successor. But I would love so much for him to see out his years with us. How many goals is he on now for us? 130ish? He could potentially be not far behind Henry...

his closing in on van nistelrooy and hasselbaink for top scoring dutchman in pl.

If he signs a new contract we need to sign an out and out striker so we can gradually move RVP into the number 10 role because I don't see him playing as a lone striker for more than another 2 years.

He will stay. Van Persie is one of those players who never forgets about the people who helped in his career, especially coming from Feyenoord who really hung him out to dry during his last year there.

If we get 4th which we will then he will sign on. Noway will he be allowed to leave anyway and the talks of us offering him a big contract and also agreeing terms with someone like Podolski should sway him.

I can't work out if his constant positive words about the club are an intimation he intends to stay, or softening us up for the treacherous blow of departure.

Either way at this point if we let him leave without putting 200k/w on the table we're nuts. Best striker bar none in the world at the moment.

Well that's just it, isn't it?

I don't like pundits and the media saying shit like "Where would Arsenal be without Van Persie?" as much as the next Arsenal fan. But...seriously....where would we be? If we get into a CL place this season (and it will still be very difficult even from here), that will be £20m+ that Van Persie has instantly earned for the club. We could cash in on him but we won't get more than £25m for a player in the last year of a contract and we won't accept offers from Man City (not that Robin would go there).

Keeping Robin and offering him whatever the fuck he wants is the best financial move for the club. I think he genuinely wants to stay, anyway.

150k / week + Goetze + Podolski - Arshavin - Chamakh = van Persie stays

If we keep him and he doesn't sign on then next summer he'll be the most sought after free agent in years and the deal of the summer for whoever signs him for nothing.

The board won't let that happen, I can't see them turning down a possible 50 million pound deal to please the fans,

On what planet will a club - other than Man City - offer anywhere near £50m for a 29 year old that has 1 year left on his contract who wants to leave a self-proclaimed selling club?

We'll get at most £25m.

Have to be honest, I never thought he'd be as good as he's become.

Really?
I was pretty sure that given an injury free stretch that he'd hit the heights.
