My point Tony, is that it's not just club policy (buy them young, polish them off, sell for big £'s). Most clubs beyond an elite few have that as a basic philosophy. But even clubs that specialise in that sort of thing, and have far less resourouces than we do, will nearly always pick one player to move on per summer. Look at Porto, Everton, Roma, Napoli etc.
It's idiocy and mismanagement to move 5 of your best, most experienced first team players on in 2 summers. 3 (maybe 4 if you include Song) directly related to contract disputes.
