That graph is plain wrong. There's no way van Persie has scored 100 goals in the last three seasons. He's on 69 according to Wiki (which might not be entirely accurate, but it's a lot closer to the truth). Messi is on 180+. Rooney has 80 something. Same goes for Agüero and Ibrahimovic. Gomez has over 90.

I don't mind him going. But, the way he's gone about it is just plain wrong. Fuck him.

Yeah I was "nuanced" too 4 years ago but as little changed and I couldn't see how anything would- I became the mocking cynic you all love to hate.

Yeah with all this positivity about I'm temporarily out of fashion, but at the end of the season in March people may question again what we got for all that money we weren't supposed to have had.

I just think RVP wants to go there himself and may be in touch with Fergusson - hence the statement because we obviously are not relenting. It will be a dark day if he ends up at United.

I will give up on Wenger if he let RVP goes to United.

RVP will be the biggest enemy for us, even worse than Adebayor.

I don't think it would be Wenger's fault if he went to United. Obviously if the trophyless seasons were in consideration, then yes it would be Wenger's fault but I think Wenger is doing all he can to block any move to Utd, hence the reports that we're not negotiating with Man U and are trying to work out a deal with other clubs.

Whether you hate United or not, not selling him to them is also a logical decision. We'll be giving our closest rivals up the table a huge boost. At City he's not going to make a huge difference, he'll just be quality striker no. 5.

Wouldn't mind getting Dzeko off City in exchange. Two stones.

I think Wenger would definitely agree to sell Van Persie to United - for the right price.

He's sold beaucoup de players to the current league champions after all.

I'm with squallkid in all this. Just as hurt as well to be honest. I'll refrain from abusing the guy until he actually leaves to utd (if at all).

It would certainly be the last straw. Selling 2 starters to city last season itself was hard to swallow. Seeing as they went on to win the league I think it was a criminal decision by whoever sanctioned it.

If ever there was an indication that the club cares little about how the fans felt, this would be it.

Spare me a response about how the club stopped caring years ago or some such Gus.

Six year deal for whoever accepts the captaincy on the proviso that they try anything like this, they'll sit in the reserves until they're as grey as van Persie.

Lost out substantially on the Fabregas fee too because he'd only go to Barca. Our bargaining position becomes weaker if the player knows for certain that we won't use the nuclear option.

Lose £10m on Cesc, £5m on Robin, £5m on Song next summer, £5m on Vermaelen or Kos the year after that, £10m on the Ox the year after that...
