Giroud y. Giroud!!!
😆
I know, I know, but Podolski, Giroud and Van Persie with Cazorla sounds so impressive.
Keeping him with just a year left on his contract would be terrible. Financially it would be throwing millions away but it would also have a very negative affect on team spirit and focus. The media speculation and the total lack of power in where he goes the year after would be hugely distracting. We need to get rid as soon as possible. Hopefully, to Juve.
Yep- Wenger as usual is talking rubbish, there is absolutely no logical reason to keep van Persie here paying his wages throwing good money after bad. He doesn't want to play for us anymore, will almost certainly get injured soon and can walk away free next year anyway- Forget about him.
Really wish we'd go for barzagli or Vidal as part of a swap deal
I'd take Vidal and £5-10m in a heartbeat.
Keep dreaming then.
I think they'll sell Vidal soon anyway. Maybe not this season but he might be on the market next summer. They just signed Kwadwo Asamoah for a shitload of money.
Asamoah is more of a Pirlo heir, no?
Ideally, but it doesn't look like Pirlo is about to slow down anytime soon. It will be interesting to see how they line up come january. Juve have a bit more balanced budget nowadays. Vidal would represent good value if the likes of Real are really interested.
New squad numbers are out. Everyone but Podolski has been allotted one.
Maybe he's waiting for Robin's no 10 to be freed up.
"A top player is not only judged by how much he costs," said Marotta. "It can also mean a player who costs less but on the pitch shows an absolute value. Van Persie is a great player but Arsenal do not intend to lose him and you cannot indulge in a player if the owners don't want (to sell). "Talk of our real interest in him seems excessive to me."
Looking for quality at the right price - Marotta's gone all Master Wenger on this. Seems talk of them offering him 190k per week might be a bit wide of the mark.

Must be quite a hit to his ego that none of the few clubs that want him are willing to go out of their way to get him.

No one will pay over the odds for a 29 year old who has one year left on his contract and a suspect injury record to boot. Arsenal have little to lose either. We signed him for 3.25 million and it wouldn't be much of a dent on our finances if we made him see out his contract. 25+ million or piss off seems to be our stance.
They'll pay up in the end, don't you worry. This summer however we are in a far better shape to wait until August 31st to get as good a deal as possible.
PSG just bought Ibrahimovic, who is older than RVP, for a shitload of money. They are paying him wages as well that is absolutely outrageous.
If you want top quality - it will cost you. Regardless of the player's age.
PSG are trying to make an impression, in Ibrahamovic they signed a player that's nearly as good as van Persie but also enjoyed the reputation of being the best for five years now.
I doubt they'd spent that money on players approaching 30 again.

You what? 😆
Fuck Ibrahimovic.
With all due respect to Robin, Ibrahimovic is on a different level as a player.
