Read somewhere yesterday that he's in talks with Chelsea. They'll probably pay him more wages, so that's a more likely destination.

I do wonder why people love this guy so much. I've only seen him a couple of times but have found him hugely uninspiring.

When you look at the goals he has scored in his short career, not a single one of them screams real quality. They show he has good pace and great strength/power, but there's nothing that's outstanding from a technical viewpoint. Not seen him play much at all though, so he could be brilliant for all I know.

i havent been impressed by clips i've seen, either, but like you say, i could be totally wrong.

i still don't get how adebayor became so good. he looked like absolute garbage at monaco, and pretty much everyone thought so. i guess wenger gets the credit on that one.

I think Ade benefitted immensely from playing with Henry for two years.

As for Lukaku, I've never seen the bloke play, but we do desperately need a quality striker. The thought of RvP getting crocked and having to put up with Chamakh for a prolonged period depresses me.

Just as likely Lukaku would get crocked, in my opinion.

Every time I look at him I think about the massive forces that must be applied to each and every one of his joints every time he moves, I'd be surprised if he doesn't have injury problems at some stage.

That was one of the reasons I was quite wary about Emmanuel Thomas' chances of making it.

We should be going in for someone like a benzema , who has experience at top level , proven , and suited to the way we play.Eto is another player i like.

Yeah, but this bloke is thriving in Belgium's top division. I wouldn't worry about whether he is beating up on smaller boys. He's long past that.

I can't decide what to think about Lukaku. What's clear to me is that he is a gifted player at least. He pulled off a couple of pretty good technical numbers in Europa League last season. Reads the game well and knows how to trap a ball and when to release a pass. How much of his progress that is down to his early physical peak is very much up for debate though.

I've never seen this guy play, so take whatever I say with a pinch of salt. That being said, with Walcott looking decent in the striker position, I wouldn't mind a guy with a lot of upside as our third choice striker.
