Don't want Sturridge. He'd frustrate the hell out of us
Tracking summer tran winda rumours
Wouldn´t worry too much about that. We already have the two most frustrating players in the league in Theo and Gervinho. No way Sturridge can reach that high on the frustration scale.
Doesnt this sturridge situation remind you of anything. Unhappy chelsea player due to being played out of position wants to change clubs, similar player in arsenal wanting to change clubs due to contract situation.
But if it were to come down to it sturridge would be a steal, but then we said the same thing with gallas, and that didnt end too well.

Honestly, gallas played well while he was here, but i don't know what wenger was thinking when he made him captain (especially since he played best when not wearing the armband).
Given how badly we had ballsed up the Cole situation, the Gallas save was a good one. Gallas (and Carvalho) had saved Terry at Chelsea. The problem for Gallas is the same problem that guys like Vermaelen have at Arsenal. Wenger neglects defense, so even good players look shit.
Sturridge for Walcott? Won't be an enormous improvement, but I wouldn't have to see Theo's face. Sturridge is more direct, has more tools for getting past his man, but also has a tendency to take bad shots when there are others in better positions.
Gallas didn't look like shit. He carried Vermaelen for a season and was injury prone.
Gallas and Vermaelen that season was fantastic. Almost unbeatable at times
Olivier Giroud has said that he likes the Frenchy feel at Arsenal...
He has 16 goals and 7 assists in 24 games in Ligue 1 so far. Has been very impressive for Montpellier. Have a feeling we are looking at this guy as a possible RVP replacement instead of a Chamakh replacement. Sickening.
Giroud currently has a release clause of €16M... nothing we can't afford !

He's not starting material, but he is a good footballer. Montpellier have a couple very interesting players at the moment. Can't believe they're topping the table in France. Probably the biggest achievement in any top European league this season so far.
M´gladbach in 3rd in the Bundesliga is up there for me.
As for Giroud - I agree with you. RVP leaving though I see him as a possible replacement. I have no faith whatsoever that we will buy a better player.
I feel that Giroud is only an option if Robin stays. Can't imagine we'll try to replace him like for like, especially not with a player who's had exactly one good season in his career. We're more likely to change the formation a bit and burden Wilshere or someone else with most of Robin's playmaking responsibilities (which I'm not entirely against). Maybe give Theo that chance up front in a two-striker system.
I think we'll go benzema if robin goes
Benzema is a pipe dream.
Benzema is a level below Robin I think.
RVP is staying, so we just need somebody to play alongside him.

He is, but then anyone not named messi ronaldo or zlatan is
I agree minus Zlatan.
Not seen much of zlatan then.
Ronaldo and Messi are above RVP while Zlatan is at the same level IMO.
Gazidis made a point of it when talking about our profits to say we spent £75m on players last summer. In the context he was speaking in, I got the destinct impression that the policy is that it is safer to buy 5 £10m players than to go for 2 £25m players. I disagree of course, but it fits with how we have actually gone about in the transfer market.
All that aside, Benzema is not likely to be for sale come the summer.
