Montpellier are totally fine with the poaching of their stars to be honest - well, of course they'd prefer to keep Giroud/Belhanda/Mbiwa, but Louis Nicollin (the chairman) doesn't have any real pretensions of making a step up in European football. He knows that they cannot offer much either financially or footballistically, which is why they invested very wisely in their youth academy even before their promotion to L1, and this season it bore fruit big time. Nicollin will be delighted to win the title, get the CL money (plus whatever they can get for their stars), and get knocked out in the first round so that they can give the league another good go. Think their kids are good enough to keep them upper mid-table next season, and if they manage to beat PSG to the title this season, nobody will complain. Basically, it's Girondins de Bordeaux all over again.
