I wonder what they tell Dick Law. "Go sign that hot 19 year old attacking mid in Dortmund", and ths is what he brings back. I think something similar happened when we sent him to Lille.

😆

im convinced he is a fictional character created by arsenal to draw our ire away from wenger. classic management strategy

I feel that we'll see a change in the attacking department (1 in, 1 out) plus Squillaci go tomorrow and possibly Fabianski on loan if anyone will take him.

I wish with all my heart that you are right on this one Cap.

Both these kids may be huge talents but should wenger be using his time tying up these deals or should he be using every second possible to be buying players who could slot straight in. Maybe he has given up on the first team and is looking to the bright bright future.

Less than likely mate. 😐

It reminds me of the Diaby signing in January 2006. No one had heard of Abou then but he was 19 and highly rated at auxerre despite hardly playing for their first team.

why doesn't it remind you of the fran merida or amaury bischoff signings? i guess it's your in-depth knowledge of dortmund's reserve team, which you've been following since 2009?

I heard this guy was supposed to break through with Gotze to Dortmund. He had 1 app for Dortmund but then got injured soon after and his career slipped down.

No reason to get up in arms about us signing youngsters who won't feature in the 25 immediately. Kid sounds like a good investment to me, and in terms of our other activity it's neither here nor there.

They manage to tell us precisely nothing about what kind of player he is. Not a good sign that he's never represented Germany at any level. He sounds like a punt to me, doesn't really interest me very much but I'll reserve judgement for now.

I agree with Burn, in that signing a good young player can never be a bad thing. It's what we're not doing that's the problem.

He's a right footed no.10 Ricky. The stats tell us that he has an eye for goal and I would guess that the fact he had such a serious injury at 16 but stayed on at Dortmund means they at least held him in high regard at that point in time.

As for that article, it looks like the writer did no research at all.

I don't know why people get up in arms when we make these signings and take it out on the player, it's a different event altogether to signing someone into the first team.

Last Janurary we signed Miyachi, Toral, some other kid and also tried to sign Oxdale-Chamberlain, the season before that we went for Chris Smalling and before that, Luke Freeman. It happens every transfer window and it seems like a 'cruel twist of fate'. But every club make these moves, Chelsea signed some kid the other day as well but because it's not front page news, it just seems like we're the only ones signing kids.

Having said that, he's a little older than Miachi, Oxdale, Toral, Merida and the rest. At 19 you'd expect him to get some games with the first team within a year or so because there's very little left to 'develop'.

This season's Bischoff?

Could care less. Insulting how many column inches the club website have given a youth signing.
