I'd rather get two very good players to improve the overall shape of the team

Jeez. You don´t trade the best player the planet has ever seen for two very good ones. How do you think Barcelona would react if they were offered those two for Messi? I reckon they´d laugh until they pissed their pants. After having changed pants I reckon there would be even more laughing.

Think I'd go for Messi.

Remember how amazing it was having Thierry Henry, just about the greatest player in the world for 5 years, turning out for The Arsenal every week. Just what a player like that can do for your club off the pitch and team on the pitch can't be overstated.

Had we been at Real's level I would have taken Messi too. He's the difference between the best team in the world and the four or five clubs that are in the tier right beneath. Arsenal would probably benefit more from strengthening two positions with players like Benzema and Özil though.
