Its going to be interesting to see if his distribution speeds up in a position where he has more people ahead of him. One of the problems he had at AM was that he didn't like making the sideways or backwards pass, he was always holding on looking for a runner.
Aye, that's the reason he looks slow in his distribution when you put him high up. He's not slow to spot an opening and not particularly heavy on the first touch. Think he just tries too much at the moment because some fuckwits have made him a whipping boy for everything that's wrong with our season.
Have to agree with Captain about the passing angles too. If Ramsey holds on to the ball a second longer it's because he tries to move it forward rather than sideways or backwards. It doesn't always come off but I appreciate the effort. He's better at working the ball up to the forward line than any other midfielder we have.
This is just severe optimism bordering on wishful thinking. He almost always goes sideways and backwards and loses the ball when attempting anything in the forwards direction. He's much better at receiving a pass in a good position from Art or RVP and spectacularly fucking up the finish...he doesn't have better "angles" than anyone in the team. He plays the most obvious pass and it gets cut out by the defense more often than not. He is very slow to spot the opening. So slow, in fact, that it closes before he even looks up after his invariably heavy first touch.
Like I said before. He's not a whipping boy, he's not "to blame." He's just not very good at this moment in time. Whether or not he'll improve only time will tell.
