We have got to sign Podolski and a left back who is not Wayne Bridge.

Dare I say we might be back in the title race if a few more results go our way?

Sadly, no.

We couldn't beat Wolves at home the other day, and we scraped past crappy QPR. We're a long way off. Even if the other teams are hardly anything special.

The only thing City losing achieves is that it's more likely that the biggest tosser in football will get his hands on another League trophy.

The Mancs losing will give other teams belief. Hope they were watching how Sunderland defended, very organised and commited with lots of bodies back....Citeh can be stifled. ManU also have their problems, mainly their keeper and injured defenders. If we can get a proven goalscorer in to assist RvP then I dont see why we cant have a shot at getting the top spot.

So what do we want from the City-Pool game?

I'm thinking a City win so we can distance ourselves from Pool

Wish we'd sort ourselves out so I could take some kind of pleasure from seeing the League leaders mess up.

If by 'sort ourselves out' you mean spend that 40M that Wenger is sitting on,well then I agree.

Oh wait, this is good for Utd & Spurs. :o

yup, that's all it is. if spuds take care of business with their game in hand they'll be 3 points off the top. that's a big if though because everton is starting their 2nd half form and they'll probably draw that one.

How can you not enjoy that? I want us to be as close to the top as possible, no matter how "out of it" we are.

Look at the faces of those City fans.

Nasri subbed at 55 minutes BTW.

Pool win.

Man City are the penis extension of some bored billionaire and have crammed together a bunch of individuals. They are not a team. And we can take them.

We will take Liverpool in any case.

We don't have to reach a consensus do we? 🙂
I want Liverpool to lose badly.

yeah a city win. we need some separation from pool and the fulham game won't be easy for us either that has dropped points all over it. i want city beating teams like tottnumb, chelsea, pool and dropping points against sides that are no threat to us.

if we were in the title race it would be another thing, but even with city losing today we're 9 points back.

We've definitely got enough money to make a quality signing or two this January, but we all know it ain't happening.

It's infuriating though. In fact I'm grinding my teeth as I type this. We have City, United, Spurs and Chelsea all to play at home before the season's out and are only 9 points off the top spot with 19 games to go.

We should be seizing on this, and taking full advantage of the relative crapness of the team's we're competing with.

Instead I'd put my money on us signing Thierry and Wayne, and paying for a lovely statue of Arshavin. So frustrating.

Our next three league games will be season defining. [in that whether we spend the next 20 games getting close to United/City or continuing playing for fourth]

😆 It's like our collective will can influence the result.

We still have to play City at home and Liverpool away.

If we can win both of those games then that's Liverpool dead and buried and us one step closer to the top spot.

The best result for us would be a draw in the City-Pool game, that way Pool drop behind and we still make up ground on City

😆
Martin O'Neill being interviewed. He's really odd sometimes.
He says he's ecstatic but he looks thoroughly miserable.
He's smiling now though as he's just been told the goal was marginally offside!

Barclays Premier League is one exciting-ass league. I've watched a lot of games this week featuring the top teams and I would have lost big money if I'd bet on most of those results.

Happy new year, OMITers

That's the definition of "unpredictable", though, not "exciting". I didn't find much to be excited about today. Sunderland were terrible and City started to play like Aston Villa soon as things didn't go their way. Two boring-ass teams pitted against eachother and the worse one won by a fluke. It's fascinating, but exciting? Hardly. The quality of the football was almost as poor as in the United-Blackburn game the other day.
