"An Independent Regulatory Commission has today [Tuesday 20 December 2011] found a charge of misconduct against Luis Suarez proven, and have issued a suspension for a period of eight matches as well as fining him £40,000, pending appeal.

Now then.

Probably get reduced on appeal to 4-6 games, which is still quite a few to be fair. Appeals seem to often be successful in this circumstance and accordingly they appear to make the initial punishment more severe.

Anything that means they have to play Calamity Carroll more often is a good thing.

I'm quite happy to believe the worst of Suarez, he does come across as a nasty piece of work. 8 games isn't much either.

John Terry must be crapping himself.

Surely Liverpool will appeal? If they do I doubt it'll be more than a 4 game ban.

Well deserved. Hate racists. Terry next?

What has his race or the fact that his granfather was black got to do with anything? Idiots.

Glad the hand-balling, ear biting prick has been banned.

Is he facing charges for his one fingered salute to the Fulham fans?

Think he is, hearing this week.

You missed out 'diving'.

Karma biting back with a vengeance

I'm surprised the official statement didn't say "and some of his best mates are black", but close enough I guess.

😆
Just looked at a Liverpool forum to see what the reaction is like and one guy literally posted a picture of Suarez with his arm around a black kid.

Hehe, it's a bit of a farce to be honest.

He deserves the ban, the FA needs to set an example for this kind of despicable behaviour. Hope Terry gets done too.

However I don't think he actually thinks black people are worse than white people, if that is what lies behind claims of him being a racist. Or at least I don't think saying what he did necessarily proves that he is a racist any more than all those kids using gay as a derogatory word actually think being a homosexual is a bad thing.

It appears to us that the FA were determined to bring charges against Luis Suarez, even before interviewing him at the beginning of November.

We would also like to know when the FA intend to charge Patrice Evra with making abusive remarks to an opponent after he admitted himself in his evidence to insulting Luis Suarez in Spanish in the most objectionable of terms. Luis, to his credit, actually told the FA he had not heard the insult.

How did they think this was acceptable statement from the club? 😆

😆 That is the most amateurish statement I've ever read. They come across as a bunch of small-time cunts. It's at times like these you realise that we're blessed with the way our official site is being run.
