There are a lot better players than Walcott, Gervinho and Rosicky only being bit part players for their clubs. I can mainly see positives here.

this move tells me gervinho and theo haven't won wenger over as automatic starters, which has been one of the most talked about topics among gooners this season. this is a good move.

I'm just impressed at how early we've wrapped this up, although Koln seemed to have offered no resistance. One more attacking player to make sure Park and Chamakh never see the light of day and we'll be fine!

That's what I'm thinking Rex, why do people believe this is a done deal? Seems like usual paper talk or am I missing something?

Its pretty clear first his contract up next year so a decision will most likely be made soon, second he and his manager have been talking about remaining committed for the remainder of the season hence he will leave, also his unhappiness and the lack of ambition at his club, and then the mertesacker texts, then on top of that bbc (usually reliable and only ever post these stories when its almost a guaranteed deal) are reporting that we have agreed in principle with the club and player in which they claim to have spoken to arsenal. Add to that the couuntless dailymail and newspaper stories of it being wrapped up. And it is pretty safe to say he is most likely going to be joining us at the end of the season.

But then again we apparently signed jadson in the summer according to some newspapers.

I'd say so. How reliable is that site that claims we have a pre-contract for Suarez done too?

Even if he hasn't put pen to paper, which he probably won't till the end of the season, we've still gone in for him in March which is a huge difference to what we usually do. At worst, we'll have another few month to sign someone else if this falls through at the last moment.

Quite obviously a lot more than just paper talk though.

Apparently Kaka had a medical here a few months ago. Still haven´t seen him play for us.

We tried hard to get him in January according to a lot of good sources. It pleases me to know we at least tried to get someone in.

We've definitely done this deal now, though, Arsenal themselves confirmed it to the BBC. He could still get injured and it doesn't happen, but none of this is paper talk.

Armor - no one knows how reliable the Suarez thing is, although I think the site has correctly revealed a few transfers previously.

Cheers. Suarez looks very interesting. I think my excitement levels would go through the roof if we already had 2 players signed up before the transfer window even opens. Would be a serious statement of intent.

Where have Arsenal said that they have confirmed anything to the BBC?

Don´t underestimate our club´s ability to fuck up a deal Ricky! Until I see Podolski, or anyone else for that matter, on Arse.com wearing or holding our shirt I consider nothing a done deal.

We've got him Rex. The BBC reporter, David Ornstein, said Arsenal confirmed to him the deal. He's as reliable as they come.

If we signed Suarez as well - and that site is confidently predicting we've got him on a pre-contract, and I'm inclined to believe it - then I'd be happy we've got some quality goalscoring wide men in, but disappointed we didn't go for one of Hazard or Gotze.

I don´t believe in such a thing as a reliable journalist. You ARE the Sunshine Kid though!

I actually do think, for a few days, we were ready to spunk £25m+ on either Hazard or Götze right after we lost both Nasri and Cesc. Don´t see us being prepared to spend that big on any one player again any time soon.
