When you look at the big picture, a lot of pieces (or almost everything) in Wenger's masterplan failed attacking-wise:
1) now should be the time when promising youngsters like Vela and Bendtner should be our stars or at least competing for the starting place, however actually they are among the first people to be shipped out;
2) experienced pros like Arshavin, Chamakh and Eduardo failed to be consistently good due to various reasons;
3) Adebayor and Nasri got their heads turned, but their level of performance dropped long before their exits.

Only RvP and Walcott seems to be successful cases, more or less. No wonder we are so short upfront.
But considering that aside Nasri and Arshavin the other 7 players costed us just _25m in total, that's actually a natural outcome.

My fear is that Wenger is going to repeat my 1) point by putting too much trust in Ryo, AOC and Campbell and thus skip the January transfer window.

I, sadly, think the thread title should get extended with the name Arshavin

Really wanted to give Chamakh a chance until next summer, but so far he's letting me and everyone else of course down, like Arshavin.
We can't afford to keep so such ineffective players in our squad.

Sign a replacement for Chamakh, promote Ox and sell Arsh.
I know Wenger's trying to keep Ox away from most of our PL games to avoid another Hype drama and too early too high a pressure on him like with Theo, but I don't think it's for the best of the club if we intentionally restrain our better options from making some sort of impact.

Ox seems like a smart and confident lad, think he'll do well if he has to step in from one day to another.

Doesn't look like he's working his socks off to me either. It wounds me to see him these days.

Confidence is completely shot, and it is making some painful viewing. Has obviously never been particularly blessed with natural talent, but even his work rate has vanished. Only good thing he did on Tuesday night was the lay off to Coquelin for the ball into Park. Other than that, nothing. Think he won 2 headers all night, and against a Kolo Toure who looks barely able to get off the floor these days.

I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but there was a moment in the 2nd half when we were playing through midfield, the ball went into Chamakh... but Chamakh had collapsed with a mystery ailment seconds earlier so it hit him on the arse and the move broke down. Of course, he was up and running moments later.

I once thought he could be a very good option for us, but now I think we might as well just take him out back and shoot him in the head.

I dont know why people are writing off Park already.hes played what,4 games so far?He scored the winner in one of them too.Besides he hasnt had the chance to play with the first team.Give him some time ffs.

PS - i think his movement is really really good.Hes a bit like Chicarito.

Had the flu. Threw up on the pitch too. Or at least that's what someone told me.

Thats what it looks like to me too.

I reckon he can't deal with being second choice and doesn't have the personality to take his chance when he gets it. I actually think he would be of some use if RvP was to pick up a serious injury.

So he was actually ill, as in physically ill, on the pitch the other night?
I saw him coughing and spluttering but I actually thought he was exaggerating, he looked as if he was pleading to come off. That was around the 65 minute mark so I thought he'd be whipped off on 70 but Wenger left him suffer on ::lol:

Ill or no ill, his level of performances have been very poor so far this season. I hope Park comes good because right now the whole balance lies on Persie. And that is far from ideal situation. I feel sorry for Chamakh but that doesnt mean we should be allowing him game time in important must win matches which are all the matches btw.
I think he should be here till summer ideally. But i also think we should be looking at an alternative in January.

We basically need van Persie to stay fit for a month and if we're as dependent on his availability post Xmas then it's another case of negligence from wenger

When Wenger says Park will come good i genuinely believes him since he watches players daily. But then he isnt picked ahead of Chamakh that baffles me.

Park should have forced the issue and make it difficult not to pick him. Just worried park isn't cut out to be at arsenal

Somehow i think Park will come good. Either ways Wenger should be looking at a striker in January. A backup wide man would also be good.
