Denying them entry to next years Champions League was huge. It could have given them a platform to lift off from. It would have enhanced their reputation, helped them to retain their best players, allow them up their wage bill and attract a better grade of players.
But alas no 🙂
They now find themselves in a very frustrating position. They'll face a summer of speculation about Bale leaving for pastures new; and to my mind he should. He's experienced all he's going to experience with Spurs, and he'd be better off doubling his wages and playing alongside better players elsewhere. They'll also have to think twice about splashing any cash reserves they have. They could gamble, pay higher wages and really suffer in the long run.
Their competitors, us included, will all strenthen and I think Liverpool will overtake them next year.
Spurs have been riding on the crest of a wave for a few years now, but I think they're starting to fizzle out. The excitement naturally goes with groundhog seasons.
And boy, we thought our groundhog season was mad / maddening 😆
Shame. Real big shame eh.
Oh and Harry kept banging on about them finishing above us this season. Hav it droopy.
