Last year when we finished second in our group and Shaktar finished first.

We met Barcelona in the round of 16 and Shaktar met them in the quarter finals so whether or not we had finished first we still would have had to play those muppets.

It's getting like Chelsea Vs Liverpool now

Without the qualifying and actually playing each other part 🙂

Haha, good point Y va

I think at one point, Chelsea and Liverpool had played each other in three Champions League semi finals.

Uggh, our matches against Barca were bad enough as quarters/round of 16 ties, I'm not sure I would be able to take one semi final against them, let alone three semi-finals.

Looks like UEFA are trying to build a couple of long lasting European rivalries, but it does get boring when the same teams play each other every year.

Not if you are a Barcelona fan. 🙂

Didn't know Ferreira was still at Chelsea until I saw their starting XI.

Contender for miss of the season there from Benzema.

Yeah, that was some miss. Credit to Apoel for their defensive game so far.

I only saw bits of the Chelsea game but by the looks of it Ramires was playing on the right wing with Mata behind Torres who looked as sharp as he has in a long time.

A lot of the clubs from smaller countries have given a great account of themselves since the reforms in CL qualification were implemented considering it was initially feared that they will detract from the spectacle and quality of Champions League football.

a flurry of goals all at the same time, and all for the wrong teams (minus everton who we dont really care about).

Don't mind Madrid having scored, twice now.
Need some bit of competition for Barca.

Real Madrid versus Barca would make for a very interesting final.

A Madrid v Barca could be massively entertaining for a number of reasons.

Dammit - Chelsea with the away goal.

Want Chelsea to progress and play Barcelona in the semi. Very small chance for them to progress, but will do them no favors with their PL run in.

Zero chance for them to progress against Barca. That will be get messy.

Nope, it's Barca in the semi for them.

And guess which League game is sandwiched between the two legs with Barca? 🙂

Barcelona will blow them all away. I know it, you know it and it won't be exciting no matter who they play.
