Let me guess Rick, Wilshere and Walcott.
And maybe Cole, (as he used to play for us).
A Savage Solution for England's Woes
You're a funny bastard, I'll give you that!
That team is attrocious.
A bit of bias with Chamberlain but I'd like to see this side in the Euro's:
-------------- Hart
Richards - Jones - Terry - Cole
-------- Wilshere - Parker
Oxlade--- - Rooney --- Young
-------------- Walcott
Young, quick and exciting with a bit of experience in there in some key areas. If nothing else, you'd think it would be good to watch.
That's better, Otf.
Looking at that team though, it's a real shame Frimpong's opting for Ghana, badly need a player like him in midfield. And unless Chamberlain really is a world beater in the making, we really do lack a little star quality in the wide positions.
No way are Jones and Chamberlain deserving starting places for England.
Wh are we talking about Chamberlain and Frimpong as options for England? The team has enough problems without handing the keys to those teenagers
-----------Hart
----Jones---Terry----Cahill
Gerrard--------------------Cole
-------Wilshere----Carrick
-------------Young
---------Rooney
------------------Walcott
:hat:

Never said anything about deserving, though I do hope those two get enough games to at least have a chance. My general idea was gambling with youth for the world cup in a couple of years and freshening up a team that's become very stale.
I mean Downing is probably more "deserving" of a spot but where are we ever really going to get with him?
Should pick the best technical footballers we have. Then try and mould whoever that is in to a functioning team. once upon a time we had Darren Anderton and Steve Mcmanaman playing as wing backs in a major tournie.
I'm talking about the future with Frimpong, obviously nowhere near it right now, same with Chamberlain. The next good England team will look something like this, I reckon:
----------------------Hart
---Walker--Bartley/Smalling--Jones--Gibbs
--------------------Rodwell
---------McEachran--------Wilshere
Chamberlain---------------------------Walcott
--------------------Rooney

Well, to start with Smalling is better than Jones.

Downing is a good premiership player, certainly better than Chamberlain but there are many ways to cut and paste the players available to England without having to play either of them.
Half of those players will not pan out. They're not even half as exciting as the Golden Generation.
Cleverly will be an international regular in a year or two. After that you're looking at Chamberlain coming in, Richards cementing the right back spot now that his head is back in it and Dyer will probably make it as an international but is similar to McEachran in that it will depend what is happening at Chelsea by then.

I'd be fine with that too, same principle. Though I have a feeling Smalling will mostly be playing at right back this season, sadly for him.

That's why I said Downing is more deserving, but the England team won't go anywhere with him in it but with Chamberlain you'd like to think they will. And there may be other options, direct or indirect, but none of them are particularly inspiring at the moment.

That should say Sturridge.
Do you enjoy quoting yourself?
I would say the euros team would look like this. Don't expect too much youngsters as I still think Capello will be conservative
--------------Hart
Richards Terry Ferdinand Cole
--------Parker---Wilshere
------------Gerrard
Downing---Rooney----Young
Decent team with many other good options off the bench. Plenty of variables to play around as well but still think France, Germany, Holland is in front of England. Lack of technical ability will mean England will always find it hard to win a major tournament despite having good teams always.
In the WC 2014, whoever manager is in charge should put out something like this for the best team.
-------------Hart
Richards Jones Cahill Gibbs
-----------Rodwell
-------Wilshere Cleverley
Chamberlain Rooney Johnson
With Sturridge McEachran Carroll Walcott Young Milner Smalling Walker Lansbury Henderson Welbeck all waiting on the wings, future looks bright.
