Now would be a good time to place a bet on Arsenal winning the CL group. Odds are good, Dortmund will be without their entire first choice back 4, and chances are pretty good that Napoli will have to play us in an empty stadium.

Some good money to (potentially) be made on the William Hill site betting on England's World Cup squad. If you bet on a group of players to make it as an accumulator the odds stack up pretty quickly... Especially helped by the surprisingly decent odds on the young guys like Ox, Henderson, Sterling and Lallana. Made this a few days ago to help me figure out which bets to make:

Not been helped by Ashley's recent run though... Gotta hope he doesn't get any more games before the end of the season!

Not sure, I'd be surprised if he didn't. There's been a real hype train backing him this season, and with Theo and Townsend out we are light on players who can run with the ball. Worse attacking players have gone to the last two world cups.

Thats a great market. Go back a couple of pages and in October i bet on Chamberlain at 7/4. Couldn't believe my luck. He's 1/5 now.

Yeah, lad on my desk filled his boots on Ox for the squad back when he was injured. He was a brilliant price like you say.

I'm very surprised that Hills are allowing multiples on this market (well, i'm not actually - they shouldn't be).

Any good value to be found for the new season?

There's normally a few season-long bets that jump out at me but I'm more unsure this season. Considering something on United to win the league on betfair due to their easy start, and then to cash out in a couple of months hoping they're at the top.

Made good money with a number of long term bets last season but not much sticking out this year. Only one i've done so far is 20 quid on Diego Costa to be top scorer as Paddy Power give you a free €2 bet everytime he scores (or anyone on that market).

Roma at 2/1 is tempting but then they're more tragic than us at times so they would probably blow it. Liverpool 5/6 to finish in the top 4 might be worth a bet. Think the odds were better before United started so poorly.

Dump some money on Agüero as top scorer if the odds are decent. He could do it without playing more than 2/3 of the games. He's that good.

Hopefully Roma and Bilbao can get something tonight. I'm considering lumping some cash on a Barca/Chelsea double @ 1.3 to make up for it.
