Let's hypothetically assume he wants to move from Dortmund in January.
Why would he join us in the fight for 4th and possibly miss out on Champions League next year, when he can fight for the title with Dortmund and evaluate his options at the end of the season?
If he moves now I think it will be some club that guarantees CL next year, sadly ATM we are not one of them.

i think we can convince him, trick will be giving an offer dortmund will accept.

if it were up to me, i'd be negotiating deals throughout december with the aim of sealing them ready for day one of the window. It will mean we get a player sooner and it give stime for the selling club to replace.

i'd also look to sweten deals by offering the likes of rosicky, arshavin and chamakh as part of the deal

I don't think gotze will be going anywhere in january. Not even sure he will leave in the summer.

He'll probably leave within the next eighteen months at least. I don't give a toss about what slips out into the rumour mill but privately I hope that we've approached Dortmund respectfully about the player. When they and Götze decide that it's time to transfer him we need to be there.
